Longwood Gardens Nominated for USA TODAY’s 10 Best Botanical Gardens

Longwood Gardens, Chester County’s botanical treasure, is one of the nominees for USA TODAY’s 10 Best in the category of botanical gardens. The exquisite Kennett Square gardens see over a million visitors stroll its grounds each year, and it is easy to see why.

Its indoor spaces, such as the Tropical Conservatory and the Orchid House with its 500 fragrant plants, always have something blooming, offering visitors a slice of spring throughout the entire year. The Flower Garden Walk guides visitors through Longwood’s very colorful first flower garden, making it a springtime favorite for many visitors who come back each year to enjoy the spectacular views it offers.  

Currently, Longwood Gardens is in 6th place out of 20, with Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden in Richmond currently holding the top spot. To help get Longwood to number one, which it richly deserves, vote here daily.

Malvern Prep Names Olympian Hopeful as Wrestling Coach

The Malvern Prep Wrestling club has made sure its members are in very good hands and will be learning from the best. The club has announced that Taylor Walsh, an NCAA Finalist and the current US Olympic Team Qualifier, will be their new Freestyle and Greco Club Team Head Coach.

Walsh, who is a graduate of Camden Catholic in New Jersey and a native of Cherry Hill, has set already set the bar very high for future wrestling hopefuls as he currently holds the all-time university record from his time competing at the University of Indiana. He earned this honor by winning 25 pins in his junior season of 2013-2014 and has been looking to beat that ever since. He is also a four time NCAA qualifier and one time NCAA All American member.
