West Chester East Holds a Pink Game for HER

West Chester East High School’s girls basketball team coordinated a Pink Game during their double header against West Chester Rustin High School, with the proceeds going to Unite for HER, the nonprofit organization that supports and provides breast cancer and wellness programs.

The event had both the girls and boys varsity and junior varsity teams from the two schools competing while the entire gym and lobby were decked out in pink. Each student also wore something pink to show support for the cause. The event raised $1,195 for Unite for HER through food sales, a 50/50 raffle, a half-time shootout, and apparel sales.

“My assistant coaches and I are passionate about signifying to the team that our program is more than just basketball,” said Erin Listrani, the East High School girls basketball coach. “Our students can accomplish anything, both on and off the court, when they work together.”
