The Philadelphia Business has released its list of the fifteen small businesses that are finalists in its 2015 Best Place to Work Awards. The list recognizes companies that focus on work-life balance, respect and caring for employees, recognition of accomplishments, feeling empowered, good teamwork and commitment to local community.
The list is compiled each year based on employee surveys that are conducted in partnership with Quantum Workspace, a company based in Omaha, that specializes in gauging employee satisfaction and feedback software. In order for a company to be included in the list of finalists, it must score at least 82 percent employee satisfaction from the surveys.
Four Chester County companies have made the list and one will win the category when the final decision is made later this year. In the meantime, every company on the list is able to use the coveted title of 2015 Best Places to Work Finalist for further brand recognition.
DF Young is in the running again this year after scooping up the 2014 award. Focused on finding logistical solutions for more than 100 years, the Berwyn based company will hope to compound its previous year’s achievement. Exton headquartered STP Investment Services is another company that is a frequent guest on this list, providing operational, technical and consulting services for investment managers.
The other two companies are both based in Wayne, Eigen X, the technical and IT solutions provider and Navigate Corp,, a management consultancy company that helps businesses improve performance and mitigate risk.
The full list of 54 businesses will include companies in different size categories, small companies with between 10 and 49 employees, medium sized with a staff of between 50 and 99, large, with 100 to 999 employees and extra large for companies employing more than a thousand people.
The final awards for each category will be handed out at a special award dinner later this year and published in the Philadelphia Business Journal. To see the full list of small company nominees click here .
