Phillips Mushroom Farms Going Pink for Breast Cancer Research

Phillips Mushroom Farms in Kennett Square is once again trying to raise both funds and awareness of breast cancer research by participating in the mushroom industry’s “pink” October.

Lead by the Mushroom Council, the campaign is supported by the majority of leading mushroom producers and to further promote this worthy cause, the Mushroom council is also asking nutritionists to create flyers and recipe pads to show the diversity of delicious mushroom recipes that are easily preparable.

The special mushrooms packs are packed in pink tills and labels and Phillips is keen to show the public the benefit of adding more mushrooms and a bit less meat to round out the protein in a meal while reducing the fat intake.

“Response to the campaign has remained very strong since it began several years ago,” noted National Sales Manager, Kevin Donovan. “It garnered quick approval by consumers who continue to support it today.”
