The man scripting the success of the nation’s premier home shopping network will now also champion the oldest script in America: its founding document. QVC President and CEO Mike George has just been elected chairman of the  National Constitution Center’s corporate council. He will begin serving Sept. 1.

“Mike’s passion for constitutional history and education make him an ideal spokesperson for the center’s mission: to provide a place where people across America and around the world can come together to learn about, debate and celebrate the greatest vision of human freedom in history, the U.S. Constitution,” the center’s President and CEO Jeffrey Rosen said in a Daily Local News report.

George will utilize his nearly 10 years in leadership of the West Chester-based video and e-commerce retailer as well as six years as a council member to promote, guide and attract funding for the center’s educational exhibits and debates.

“I am privileged and honored to have the opportunity to serve as chairman of the National Constitution Center’s Corporate Council,” George said. “Preserving and increasing the awareness of the U.S. Constitution is a personal passion of mine, and I am proud to be part of the Center’s efforts.”
