Chester County Commissioners Terence Farrell, Kathi Cozzone and Michelle Kichline invite all Chester County citizens to a community dialogue meeting on Tuesday, August 18, 2015.  The event will be held in the Struble Room at the Chester County Library in Exton beginning at 7:00 p.m.

“Our School of Government program, a six-week course held every two years, provides a teaching platform for citizen ‘students’ who want to know more about the responsibilities of Chester County government – our programs and services, especially in relation to municipal and state government,” said Chester County Commissioners’ Chair Terence Farrell.  “This community dialogue evening is an opportunity for citizens, in an interim School of Government year, to meet with us and ask questions about the services we provide.”

The community dialogue event will begin with brief highlights of some current county initiatives and an overview of Chester County Government responsibilities.  A question and answer session will follow, offering residents the chance to speak with the commissioners on topics such as the running of the 9-1-1 center, the management of growth and preservation in the county, workforce and employment initiatives, and health and human services programs.

The Chester County Library in Exton will play host to the community dialogue.

“We welcome this opportunity to meet with citizens to discuss a wide range of subjects relating to county government,” said Commissioner Kathi Cozzone.  “Events such as this help us to keep residents informed of what we’re doing within the county, but they also help us to get a real sense of what issues are important to our citizens.”

“In addition to discussing what services we provide for residents, we can talk with citizens about how we fund those services.  We welcome questions about the budget process we go through to make sure everything is financed efficiently and effectively,” added Commissioner Michelle Kichline.  “We would love to fill the meeting room with citizens who want to know more about what we do, and how we work.”
