CCIU To Host Open House For Students Interested In Nursing

Doors of opportunity are set to swing wide open next week for Chester County’s future nurses. A special open house at the CCIU will showcase two practical, hands-on paths to a nursing career will introduce those prospective students to the instructors they’ll learn from, the classrooms and labs they’ll learn in, and the timeline that will take them from where they’re at to working in any number of long-term care facilities, hospitals, physicians’ offices, schools and outpatient clinics.
The Chester County Intermediate Unit Practical Nursing Program Open House will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 10, at the Downingtown campus within Technical College High School Brandywine, according to a recent announcement. The course options are the full-time fall 2015 session offered there in Downingtown or a four-day-a-week session beginning in July in West Grove at the TCHS Pennock’s Bridge campus.
Both options provide 1,635 hours of study, including 700 hours of clinical rotation, across four levels, with the hands-on clinical experience taking place at facilities like the Chester County Hospital, Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Hospital and Pocopson Home.
