An unprecedented opportunity to host up to 2 million visitors and bring $418 million to Philadelphia and its suburbs is a headline not enough Chester County business owners are seeing, according to Philly.com coverage of an underwhelming turnout for the Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry’s recent event introducing that impact to the business community.10.19.2014 CCCBI Logo2

“We really couldn’t even buy this kind of global promotion” Andi Coyle of Visit Philadelphia said in the article.

About 35 of 400 invited business leaders attended the meeting in Westtown last week, and local companies Tague LumberKrapf Coaches and the King of Prussia Mall were highlighted for their already-announced promotions aimed at Pope Francis’ visit to Philly Sept. 26-27 following the World Meeting of Families on Sept. 22-25.

“All of this is making me think we do need to get something together,” Kelly Benedict, from Malvern’s People’s Light and Theatre Co., said in the article.

The World Meeting of Families has been hosted in a different global venue every three years since 1994; it brings together thoughts, dialogues and prayer focused on the Christian family’s role in church and society.
