Rich Teerlink, a member of Vertex, Inc.’s board of directors for the past 13 years, retired Feb. 4.  The Berwyn company is a leading provider of corporate enterprise tax solutions and services.

Teerlink is the former chairman and CEO of Harley Davidson, and was also on the boards of  Johnson Controls, Snap-on Tools and Quad Graphics. Teerlink is also the author of “More Than a Motorcycle,”and has frequently spoken to corporate audiences. He will continue to serve as an advisor to the board and CEO Jeff Westphal.

Kevin Robert of Lacombe, La. will take Teerlink’s board seat. Robert was most recently CEO of Wolters Kluwer/Commerce Clearing House and was an advisor to the Vertex board during the past year.

“Kevin brings specific tax software industry experience to our board that perfectly complements Terry Kyle’s software industry financial experience and Ric Andersen’s technology, ERP and services experience,” Westphal said. “We are extremely fortunate to have an opportunity to bring Kevin onto the Vertex board.”
