Road Construction on Route 100 to Begin Next Week

By

Motorists will encounter daytime lane closures when traveling on Route 100 (Pottstown Pike) between Shoen Road and Route 113 (Uwchlan avenue) in Uwchlan and West Whiteland townships on Monday through Friday (Feb. 9-13) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for road widening.

Construction activity is part of the $17.4 million project to expand Route 100 from two lanes to three lanes in each direction. Crews are widening northbound Route 100 from Shoen Road to just south of Route 113 and southbound Route 100 from just south of Route 113 to Swedesford Road/Waterloo Road.

Northbound and southbound Route 100 will be reduced from two lanes to one during construction and drivers are advised to use extra care and allow additional time for travel.

The contractor’s work schedule is dependent on the weather. The widening project is scheduled to finish in February 2016.

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles, including color-coded winter conditions on 2,900 miles, by visiting 511PA.com.
