A modern retrofit for a relocated historical building in Malvern has hooked up a West Bradford plumbing and heating company with a nationwide Bosch Green Living Award.

Showcased at the AHR Expo in Chicago, James Brown Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning LLC’s installation of a cutting-edge combination of radiant floor heating, geothermal heat and high-efficiency boilers — plus the construction of a centralized mechanical room —won the local firm top honors in the awards’ residential category, according to a report in the Daily Local News.

“In recent years, James Brown LLC has seen a significant increase in interest for the new technologies in the wake of surging oil and propane prices,” the article stated. “And while prices have dropped off in the last few months, Scott Brown said his customers don’t ever want to go back to oil ‘once (they) get the taste for cheaper living.’”
