Community Teaming Up To Support Friend Of Waste Oil Recyclers Amy Barnes

By

Whether for a cause or in her career, a West Chester woman has built a reputation for showing up and helping.

She’s dug into garden nights, celebrated Energy Independence Day, followed the beat of the local live music scene, and helped foster appreciation for MoGreena’s Harvest Art Party — when she wasn’t already devoting hours to caring for children as a nanny.

Amy is now in a fight to save her own life as she undergoes intense treatments for breast cancer. Amy Barnes “cannot work; has to pay for her medical insurance, which will not come close to covering her expenses; and maintain her residence in West Chester while staying with her parents,” Waste Oil Recyclers informed customers on its blog. “For someone who has given so much of her time and energy to others, we feel it is appropriate to return the favor.”

The company is promoting Amy’s fundraising campaign on gofundme and the Barnesraising live music benefit on Dec. 14, featuring local musicians Mason Porter, The Sermon!, Rolling Thunder Blues Revue, MK&Col, and Josh Komorowski along with a cash bar, munchies and a wine and spirits raffle.
