Get Ready – AAA Is Predicting Crowded Thanksgiving Roads And Skies

By

The roads and skies will be stuffed this Thanksgiving, and likely to be more crowded than they have been since 2007, according to AAA Mid-Atlantic.

The organization estimates more than 580,000 people in the five-county Philadelphia area will travel 50 miles or more away from home over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. This is a more than 4 percent increase over last year.

Eighty-eight percent of Philadelphia-area residents will travel by car and will pay the lowest Thanksgiving gas prices in five years – an average of $2.97.

With the onset of freezing temperatures the motor club is also reporting the overall number of emergency roadside assistance calls rose more than 22 percent Nov. 18, compared to year-ago numbers.
