Wegmans Now Offers Apple Pay At All Stores

By

If you have Apple Pay, local Wegmans Food Markets are now ready for you at the checkout line.

Wegmans is one of the first supermarkets in the country allowing customers to check out using the new Apple Pay service that promises to transform mobile payments with an easy, secure and private way to pay.

“We are very proud to be able to offer this to our customers as soon as it goes live on October 20,” said Jo Natale, Wegmans director of media relations.  “Apple Pay is easy to use and secure, two things that we know are very important to our customers.”

When you add a credit or debit card with Apple Pay, the actual card numbers are not stored on either the device or on Apple servers. Instead, a unique device account number is assigned, encrypted and securely stored in the secure element on your device. Each transaction is authorized with a one-time unique dynamic security code, instead of using the security code from the back of your card.

Apple Pay will work with iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and Apple Watch.  More information about Apple Pay is here:  www.apple.com/apple-pay/

By the way, the Huffington Post reports Wegmans will open 10 new stores over the next three years, including one in nearby Concordville, Delaware County.
