Bentley Systems Offers New Hydraulic Software Packages

By

Exton-based Bentley Systems, Inc. has three new software solutions for the analysis and design of water distribution systems.

The new systems are marketed as WaterCAD, WaterGEMS and HAMMER V8i.  The company says the systems extend information mobility across water system planning, design and operations and improve collaboration to enhance hydraulic project and system performance.

The systems improve visibility, forecasting and decision-making for both modelers and operators. The software also helps forecast operating conditions.

Greg Herrin, director of product management for hydraulics and hydrology, said asset performance modeling enables system operators to benefit from optioneering as they evaluate and visualize model predictions directly in the user interface they regularly use.

Unlike software that aggregates water usage data from multiple water customers to a single spatial location, the WaterCAD and WaterGEMS V8i software explicitly models water demands for individual water customers in their correct physical locations. This provides modelers with better visibility and control over where demands are allocated, helping them manage those demands with finer granularity.

Bentley is a global leader dedicated to providing architects, engineers, geospatial professionals, constructors and owner-operators with comprehensive software solutions for advancing the design, construction and operations of infrastructure. The firm, founded in 1984, has more than 3,000 colleagues in over 50 countries, more than $600 million in annual revenues, and since 2006 has invested more than $1 billion in research, development, and acquisitions.
