Fast-Growing Local Distributor Allied Wire & Cable Wins E Award For Exemplary Exporting

By

From a Wayne basement to one of Pennsylvania’s fastest-growing private companies, Allied Wire & Cable has exemplified success, and a recent presidential “E” Award for Exports serves as proof.

“The ‘E’ Awards Committee was very impressed with Allied Wire & Cable’s creation of an interdepartmental committee to enhance exports,” U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker said in an Electrical News article.

“The company’s participation in international trade fairs and missions was also particularly impressive. Allied Wire & Cable’s achievements have undoubtedly contributed to national export expansion efforts that support the U.S. economy and create American jobs.”

Now based in Collegeville, AWC manufactures and distributes specialty wire, cable, tubing and accessories to worldwide government, military, aerospace, automotive and telecommunications industries.

“It is amazing to see how our company has grown from its start in my family basement in the Philadelphia suburbs to now, when we’re going to Washington to receive presidential recognition for doing business around the world, and doing it well,” President and CEO Tim Flynn said in the article.

“It makes us extremely proud, not only as business owners, but also as Americans, to know that we are able to help grow the economy and provide more job opportunities in the U.S. by increasing exports.”
