Exton’s West Pharmaceutical Not Letting Up On Expansion Plans

By

West Pharmaceutical Services’ appetite for growth isn’t quite satisfied yet.

In the past year, the Exton-based company has opened a second plant in China, launched a manufacturing facility in India, announced an expansion in Dublin and acknowledged evaluating another $130 million site in the Irish capital.

West CFO Bill Federici told investors last week to expect $125 million to $145 million in capital spending this year, half of which will be invested in new products and expansions, according to an Outsourcing-Pharma.com article.

The report cites Irish media claims that the growing firm is interested in greenfield land at Waterford and is talking with the Ireland Industrial Development Agency.

“We are always evaluating potential investment activities to best serve our customers’ needs,” spokeswoman Emily Denney said.
