Pennsylvania’s Wealthiest Is No Standout Among Wealthiest Americans

By

Pennsylvania’s richest individual, Chester County resident Mary Alice Dorrance Malone, is just another can on the wealth shelf, according to real estate firm Movoto’s map of the men and women with each state’s highest net worth.

While Malone’s $3 billion Campbell Soup fortune outranks all others in her home state — and looks pretty good next to Delaware and West Virginia, it pales in comparison to Pennsylvania neighbors David Tepper, with $10 billion in New Jersey, and David Koch, with $41.4 billion in New York, plus the three with the nation’s biggest piggy banks: Washington’s $80 billion Bill Gates, Nebraska’s $63.1 billion Warren Buffett and California’s $49.4 billion Larry Ellison.
