Herr Foods Introduces Go Lite! Popcorn

Go Lite! Popcorn with Himalayan salt is the newest healthy yet delectable snack food from Herr Foods, Inc. of Nottingham.
Jennifer Arrigo of Herr’s public relations department tells us only three simple ingredients go into Go Lite! Whole-grain popcorn is hot air popped, then coated with coconut oil and Himalayan salt. The snack has only 37 calories per cup.
In creating this snack Herr’s has wrapped simple popcorn with two very trendy health foods. The New York Times reported coconut oil was once considered a dietary villain, but has charmed the health food world. Coconut oil contains lauric acid, which some advocates say contains antibacterial, antimicrobial and antiviral properties. That possibility aside, coconut oil does bring out the nutty sweetness of popcorn.
Himalayan salt is said to be a very pure salt, packed with minerals including calcium, magnesium, potassium, copper and iron. Arrigo said unlike processed salt, Himalayan salt retains essential minerals.
Go Lite! Popcorn is sold in an attractive turquoise bag. A one-ounce bag retails for $1.49 and a five-ounce bag retails for $3.49.
