The Chester County Economic Development Council and Ideas x Innovation Network invite business people to once-a-month mornings of ICEd Coffee at the Innovation Center at Eagleview (ICE).

The gatherings, geared toward life sciences professionals in startup companies, run from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Attendees can share successes, brainstorm and problem solve.  The next coffee is Friday, Sept. 5.  Future dates are Oct. 3, Nov. 7, and Dec. 5.

The ICE is located at 665 Stockton Dr., Exton. For more information, contact Marianne Stack at mstack@cceconomicdevelopment.com or 610.321.8222

The CCEDC is also planning a Techies Day for youth on Wednesday, Oct. 8.  Details will be on the website here.   The organization said last school year its youth initiatives reached 3,112 students. Initiatives included career fairs, community outreach events, Girl’s Exploring Tomorrow’s Technology, TechiesDay, and career showcases. During these showcases employers host students for a half day to teach them about their business and industry career paths.

This school year the CCEDC will continue these initiatives and add a new career exploration campaign, using a variety of stickers to drive students to an innovative website. A contest will be launched where winning students will receive job shadowing opportunities with local employers.

The CCEDC is a full-service, regional economic development entity that has provided “smart growth” business services to companies in the region for over 50 years. It is a private, non-profit, non-governmental corporation employing more than 40 economic development specialists.
