AboutOne Appoints Paul Allen To Board Of Directors

AboutOne, the Paoli firm that merges household and family data and cloud-based computing, has appointed Paul B. Allen to its board of directors.

Allen is the founder and former CEO of Ancestry.com and also holds the consulting title of strengths evangelist for Gallup in Washington D.C.

“Paul has a wealth of business expertise in the family tech space, and we are delighted to have him join AboutOne’s board of directors,” said Mindy Posoff, chairman of the AboutOne board.

Prior to joining Gallup, Allen started several software and internet-based businesses. In 1997, he co-founded Ancestry.com and was its first CEO. As the company grew, he moved to the role of vice president of marketing, managing all online marketing channels.

Allen also founded 10x Marketing, an internet marketing agency specializing in search engine and affiliate marketing. The company was acquired by Innuity in 2005. He also founded FamilyLink, which developed the “We’re Related” Facebook application. This app, which quickly attracted 80 million users, enabled people to find relatives on Facebook and build a family tree.
