Made In America Goes From Tagline To Bottom Line For Wayne Company

Since bringing its manufacturing back to Pennsylvania from China, Wayne’s Independence LED has enjoyed the benefits of both a “Made in America” tagline as well as a profitable bottom line.

“It’s been the best decision my company has ever made,” said Chairman and CEO Charlie Szoradi in an IndustryWeek article, because it has yielded direct American jobs, ripple effect American jobs in support services, better product quality, longer product warranties, more advanced automation and closer proximity to customers.

“The idea is pretty simple: do it right from the start and save on the replacement labor and cost of shipping back failed imported products,” the article states.

And behind value to shareholders and payroll, Szoradi said the company’s “third responsibility is to beat the drum of an American Energy Revolution to create demand for a field with great potential in an exciting chapter in world history.”
