Eagleview Hosting Free Summer Movies, Concerts

There are very few opportunities to take in concerts and movies for free, so be sure to enjoy The Eagleview Town Center’s schedule of free summer outdoor movie nights and concerts.

On the silver screen this summer are:

  • Frozen, Wednesday, June 25
  • Despicable Me 2, Wednesday, Aug. 20
  • Singin’ in the Rain, a Classic Movie Night special, Wednesday, Aug. 27
  • The Lego Movie, Friday, Sept. 25
  • Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, Friday, Sept. 12.

All movies begin at 7 p.m.  Bring lawn chairs or blankets, and although there is no charge, non-perishable food donations will be collected for the Chester County Food Bank.

This is the fourteenth year for the summer concert series, and on the schedule is a wide variety of local bands playing everything from children’s folk songs to blues.  Concerts are held in Wellington Square from 7 to 9 p.m., with parking between Wellington Square businesses and the YMCA.  Bring blankets or lawn chairs, and alcoholic beverages are permitted for those over 21.

On stage July 8 will be Steven Courtney at 7 p.m., followed by The Splashing Pearls. that performance will be followed on July 15 when the The Lawsuit Band, Katie Frank and The Pheromones, and Up the Chain take the stage.  Then on July 22 The Driftwood Band and The Barefoot Movement strut their stuff.  Christine Havrilla and The Gypsy Fuzz , along with The Lovebirds, will play July 29.

On stage Aug. 5 will be Lera Lynn and The Wallace Brothers Band.  Parsonfield and Honeychild will play Aug. 12, and The Rivers Rockabilly Trio and Jordie Lane will be on stage Aug. 19.  The finale is Aug. 25, with A.J. Ghent from 7 to 8:30 p.m., followed by fireworks.

The rain date for this finale event is Aug. 28.
