Eagles Hope Super Bowl Path Lined With College Graduates
A new strategy is driving the selection of the newest additions to the Philadelphia Eagles roster, and it has little to do with traditional measures of athletic success.
“When you look at people who are successful in any profession, it always goes back to college graduates,” Eagles General Manager Howie Roseman said in a Wall Street Journal article.
“We found NFL players are no different.”
As a result, six of the seven rookie players drafted by the Eagles this year are on pace to graduate from college.
“The trends over the last five drafts are startling,” the Journal explained. “Studies show that teams who select players who spent five years in college — and thus almost always have a degree — win big.”
