Citadel Honors Three Chester County Teachers

The incredible impact on students made by the hard work and dedication of three Chester County area teachers was heralded last week through the bestowal of this year’s Citadel Heart of Learning Awards.

5.21.2014 Citadel Heart of Learning AwardThe prestigious award, sponsored each year by Citadel Credit Union in Exton, includes recognition as well as  gifts of $2,000 each for classroom supplies were narrowed down to three from a pool of 2,400 candidates and 15 finalists, according to news coverage by the Daily Local News.

Elementary school winner Grace Frunzi (above middle) works with students with deficits in language and motor skills at Pocopson Elementary School in the Unionville-Chadds Ford School District.

Middle school winner Philip Reggio (above left) teaches gifted resources and social students and coordinates the honor’s program at Kennett Middle School.

High school winner Master Gunnery Sgt. Andrew Worley is a Purple Heart recipient, 33-year veteran of the U.S. Marines and naval science instructor at Owen J. Roberts School District.
