Chester County Commissioner Heading To China

By

Two-term County Commissioner Terence Farrell is heading to Yongchuan district in China this weekend for a two week, self-funded trade mission to cultivate business and cultural ties with the district’s people and business leaders.

Yongchuan district in western China is slightly larger geographically than Chester County and one of that country’s most important agricultural and animal husbandry production regions.

According to Philly.com, Farrell’s china trip follows a visit in October of 2013 by a “delegation of 25 Chinese business people [who] toured Chester County, including West Chester University, Pietro Mushrooms, and Longwood Gardens.”

Last year’s visit and Farrell’s visit are being coordinated by ABD International and the Main Line Chinese Culture Center.

In the days leading up to the trip the commissioner is busy brushing up on his Chinese.  “I knows how to say in Chinese some basic phrases, including “Hello,” “Goodbye,” “Thank you,” and “My name is Terence Farrell.”

Good luck and safe travels Commissioner!
