YMCA Seeks Corporate Partners And Donors

By

The YMCA of the Brandywine Valley has launched its annual fundraising campaign and is looking for local businesses to contribute and also join the Y as corporate partners.

The YMCA has five branches in Chester County and more than 58,000 members. The nonprofit organization recognizes businesses and gives them marketing opportunities as they contribute to and participate in events such as an annual dinner, golf tournaments, learn to swim programs, summer camps, sports, after school programs, Healthy Kids Day and other community events.

Employees of companies who sponsor YMCA programs as community partners are eligible for Y membership with no joiner fee. Depending upon the level of corporate support, employees can receive annual discounts of 10 to 20 percent off the regular membership fee.

Companies can also receive state tax credits. Pennsylvania allows firms to contribute to Educational Improvement Organizations such as the YMCA in lieu of tax liability. The YMCA of the Brandywine Valley is an approved EIO. Companies who partner with the Y help support preschool education, swim lessons and sports opportunities for children from needy families.

For more information about becoming a YMCA community partner click here or contact Katie Walker, director of community engagement and strategic initiatives, at 610-643-9622, ext. 2133, kwalker@ymcabwv.org.

The YMCA aims to inspire, protect and empower kids and families, regardless of their ability to pay. In 2013, the YMCA of the Brandywine Valley awarded more than $2.5 million in financial assistance to kids, adults and families in need.
