United Technologies Plans To Sell Or Spinoff Sikorsky Aircraft

There is uncertainty in the air for the 15,300 employees of Sikorsky Aircraft, which operates a helicopter completion center in Coatesville.

Bloomberg News reports CEO Gregory Hayes has announced plans to sell or spinoff the 90-year-old firm. Sikorsky is a division of Connecticut-based United Technologies. The division posted $7.5 billion of United Technologies’ $65.1 billion in revenue last year.

Sikorsky makes the iconic Black Hawk and Marine One helicopters. Hayes is quoted as saying Sikorsky is not a good fit with the United Technologies portfolio. Read the story here.
